Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field Therapy or PEMF Therapy is becoming extremely popular all over the world, and for good reason. PEMF therapy is based around using extremely low electromagnetic fields and pulsing them, sending a series of low intensity electrical charges into the cells of the body. Whether there is chronic pain or not, or an acute injury or not, the use of PEMF to enhance the body is proven and effective. When you are injured, in pain, or simply not as healthy as you could be, PEMF may be able to help you regain your health and vitality.
Pulsed electromagnetic fields are being used more and more in conjunction with conventional medicine and other complementary health techniques and holistic care.
There are many kinds of PEMF devices on the market:
- portable PEMF devices
- full-body machines, like PEMF mat devices
- PEMF coils: cylinders/stationary for hospital outfits
And so on and so forth.
In the next article (link coming soon), we will discuss in further detail the different manufacturers of these varieties of PEMF devices. I have personally used a few of them, and still own 2.
A compact electronic device can create the low frequency, low-intensity electromagnetic fields you need to keep or restore your health. PEMF works because every structure has its own unique resonant frequency, and every structure naturally wants to return to a state of balance and health.
When pain subsides as a result of PEMF treatment, a new vitality is restored, stress is reduced and the body becomes energized. There have been numerous cases of magnetic therapy where patients were able to focus better, be happier, behave more appropriately and be calmer. It has been extensively and effectively used in the treatment of animals, to alleviate sciatica pains, and many other applications; in some cases, it allows one to avoid unnecessary surgery.
Is PEMF Therapy Scientifically Proven?
Yes! Thousands of studies have consistently proven PEMF therapy to be a safe and effective therapy. Routine use of pulsed magnetic therapy is said to improve the body’s ability to repair cells and recover from illnesses. I personally use 2 devices as a treatment for motor vehicle accident injuries. The studies don’t lie. Is it for everybody? No. Before choosing PEMF, I’d recommend consulting a health professional – that’s what I did.
Once a diagnosis has been made and the desired therapeutic frequency determined, pulsed magnetic field therapy is simple to apply and can safely be administered by the owner. The PEMF device sends a pulsing magnetic field through the coil, deep into the body. Compact and lightweight devices can be incorporated into casts, bandages, or applied directly to anatomical areas that would be difficult to treat with a bulky and heavy device.
People with chronic pain who have failed to find relief from other treatments will often find relief using PEMFs. Pulsed Electromagnetic therapy is a natural non-invasive, safe and effective treatment for pain relief. PEMF therapy improves mobility, reduces pain, and even helps to support and promote optimal joint health.
PEMF Therapy Relieves Pain… Plus TMJ!
Applications include incredible lasting and immediate pain relief, treatment of various diseases and injuries, and wellness. From personal experience, my son’s TMJ was fixed in 15 minutes using magnetic therapy. The clicking in his jaw went away just like that. While it came back months later at lower levels, active PEMF treatment has helped the symptoms subside once again.
A complete and speedy recovery is the key to successfully get back in the game, and regular PEMF treatment is one of the best ways to do that, provided it’s suitable for you.
Using PEMF Machines for Acute Pain, Chronic Pain and Equine Treatment
PEMF stimulation helps quiet down nerves of chronic pain sufferers while facilitating recovery from injury and inflammation. Once the stabilization is achieved, the adverse reactions are less likely to crop up during the therapy. Magnetic therapy has been studied and documented ever since the invention of electricity centuries ago. PEMF therapy was officially approved by the FDA in 2007, and veterinarians became the first health professionals to adopt this technology, particularly to heal broken legs of race horses. The FDA and Health Canada have since reclassified some PEMF devices from Class III to Class II category medical devices. As veterinarians were the first adopters, PEMF is particularly popular in the equine niche to this day.
Whether used on animals or humans, the ultimate goal of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is to reduce one’s reliance on medication, making them feel better naturally.
PEMF devices for horses create strong electromagnetic fields to completely penetrate the injured area at a therapeutic level.
Over the years, PEMF Therapy has proven to be effective on both acute and chronic pain. In various chronic conditions, exposure to PEMF has been linked to a speedy reduction in pain severity. For both osteoarthritis conditions, benefits lasted for at least 1 month after treatment was stopped.
The ability to relieve pain is very variable and unpredictable, depending on the source or location of pain and whether it is acute or chronic. As for myself, after having monthly PEMF treatment for about a year, my consistent pain, which I had to take pain medication for, has been reduced, and I now control it with regular exercises, pain medication ONLY as needed, and maintenance PEMF treatments. Each treatment has taken me closer and closer to my goal to get off pain medications. While at first the benefits were not as long-lasting, i.e. 24-48 hours, during those 24-48 hours I didn’t feel any pain whatsoever, and it did nothing but improve with each consecutive visit. I am absolutely sure that this is one of the therapies of the future. It did help me; it did help my son with his TMJ, his twisted gut and his digestion; and it certainly helped the person that recommended it to me.
One of the most commonly reported parameters relating to magnetic therapy devices is the strength of the applied magnetic field. A magnetic field is sent through the loops into the body. The strength/intensity and frequency are dependent on the device and manufacturers that you use.
The pulsing magnetic field from a PEMF device turns on and then off many times a second in what is called the frequency. The ideal frequency is around 8 Hz, which is the frequency of the Earth.
PEMF Therapy in Summation
Now that you’ve learned something about PEMF Therapy, its applications and its benefits, all you have to do is choose among the many options in terms of equipment. You’ll never know if magnetic field supplementation is going to work for you unless you try it – and, as we discussed, the best practice is to consult a medical professional prior to use. I would always recommend seeking a secondary opinion, whether or not the first professional you ask gives you the OK. I myself have sought – and still continue to seek – information about PEMF therapy in this ever-evolving field of alternative medical treatments, for my own benefits.
Now you can enhance your quality of life and effectively manage chronic pain on your own terms – without invasive surgery or damaging painkillers! (Unless, of course, they’re natural.)
Each the hundreds of research studies on PEMF therapy is also a test of the safety of the stimulation itself. Many independent studies done during the last 30 years clearly indicate that frequencies which are beneficial for human applications are mainly between 1 and 50 Hz. For all I know, NASA has used it.
PEMF Therapy: A Nifty “Biohack”
One of the kinds of PEMF treatments is repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation. It’s almost like a biohack, if you will – as if Bulletproof founder Dave Asprey were to dabble in the electrifying studies of Nikola Tesla.
With over 2000 University-level, double blind, peer reviewed medical studies showing its effectiveness and safety, PEMF Therapy is considered one of the most researched and trusted treatments. Unlike both electric and electromagnetic fields, pure magnetic fields penetrate freely everywhere in the body.
PEMF improves circulation so the conversion of nutrients and oxygen inside the body can occur at optimum performance. Improved circulation helps the body get all the nutrients and oxygen it needs, and more efficiently expels waste and toxins. In this way, PEMF therapy helps “unclog” the natural flow of the body, allowing it to function as Nature intended.
Electromagnetic therapy carries the promise to heal numerous health problems, even where conventional medicine has failed. Holistic treatment methods are in no competition with conventional medicine, but instead are very supportive.
